Film actor, playwright, intellectual, voice actor, and stand-up comedian Wallace Shawn is an instantly recognizable American treasure. Beloved by audiences for roles as diverse as Vizzini in The Princess Bride and opposite Andre Gregory in the semi-autobiographical film, My Dinner with Andre, Shawn has also appeared as an actor in comic roles on TV shows including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Gossip Girls, and The Cosby Show. His voice work includes roles in The Incredibles, the Toy Story films, and Monsters Inc. Aside from his comic work, he has enjoyed critical acclaim for his serious work in the theater as a playwright and actor. A Fulbright scholar and graduate of Harvard College, he is known for plays and essays that are intellectually robust and challenging, often grappling with the serious moral issues of the day.
