The beautiful, lyrical books of award-winning Paris-based writer Dinaw Mengestu include The Beautiful Things that Heaven Bears and How to Read the Air. Chosen by The New Yorker magazine as one of the “20 Under 40” writers of 2010, Mengestu is poised to become one of the most significant international writers of his generation. He is the winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize ad the Guardian First Book Award. In addition to his novels, he has reported for Rolling Stone on the war in Darfur. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Wall Street Journal, and other publications.
